16 Dead And Massive Damage In Arkansas From Possible Tornado

(WREG-TV) At least 16 people are confirmed dead dead in Arkansas after a suspected tornado moved through areas north of Little Rock.

There are reports of massive damage in the Mayflower area in Faulkner County, including reports of a Wildlife Service building that has been damaged.

Extreme damage was also reported in Vilonia, AR, where numerous injuries have been reported.

In the WREG coverage area, the National Weather Service says a possible tornado touched down in Quitman County, MS northeast of Marks. Damage there was limited to downed trees, power lines and minor property damage.

A tornado also struck a small town in northeastern Oklahoma on Sunday, killing one person.

Authorities in Quapaw say the north side of town was hit hard. Quapaw is located about 20 miles southwest of Joplin.

A tornado also touched down in across the state line in Baxter Springs, KS.
