MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rick Trotter, the voice of the Memphis Grizzlies, has been arrested.

A warrant out for Trotter’s arrest accused him of photographing a person without their consent.

Tuesday afternoon, Memphis Police elaborated on the allegations saying Trotter took inappropriate videos/photos of someone at a church in the Downtown Memphis area.

WREG obtained police documents that said in May, Trotter was caught kneeling behind a woman during service with a cellphone in his hand.

He was reportedly videoing under her dress and then stored the video on a church issued laptop.

In all, four women came forward saying they were taped without their permission.

Police said Trotter gave a written and signed statement of admission to each.

A warrant was issued the same day the NBA team released him.

WREG has learned Trotter was also let go by a local church he worked with back in May.

Downtown Church released the following statement to the public:

“We, the elders of Downtown Church, are deeply saddened to announce that, effective May 27, Rick Trotter was terminated as an employee of Downtown Church. This was the result of deception and moral failures of a sexual nature.

As you can imagine, this revelation has been deeply devastating to all of us. We, as elders, have come around his wife and children offering spiritual, emotional, and financial support. We will continue to support and encourage them, and we know the Downtown Church family will follow suit.

We have responded swiftly as information has emerged, with counsel from trusted professionals. As we move forward in this process, we want the congregation to know we are fully committed to operating with integrity and transparency. Please join us in praying for all involved.”

Trotter is scheduled to be in court on Wednesday.
