OMAHA, Neb.– Omaha’s Aaron Brooks threw eight shutout innings and struck out 10 as the Storm Chasers blanked the Redbirds 7-0 to take game 1 of the PCL’s American Conference Finals 7-0.
Brooks held the ‘Birds to just five hits with Scott Moore and Luis Mateo accounting for 4 of the 5.
Memphis’ Tim Cooney was knocked out in the 5th inning, charged with four runs.
Game 2 is Thursday night in Omaha before the series shifts to Autozone Park for Game 3 on Friday.
