After landing the top transfer in the country in Kendric Davis, Penny Hardaway denied a chance at another prized transfer when Baylor forward Matthew Mayer committed to Illinois on Friday.
Mayer had the U of M in his Final Four but instead, picked the Illini over the Tigers, North Carolina and Texas Tech.
