HOUSTON, TX–In a game that saw both teams rest its starters, the Grizzlies watched Houston Rockets guard James Harden make the most of his early time on the floor. Harden scored 21 points on Thursday to lead the Rockets to a 113-93 win over Memphis.
Former Memphis Tigers player Tarik Black scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in 26 minutes for Houston that decided to rest all-star big man Dwight Howard.
The Grizzlies put only two players in double figures. Rookie draft picks Jarnell Stokes led the Grizzlies with 12 points. Jordan Adams added 11. The Grizzlies are now 0-2 in the preseason. They host Atlanta on Saturday in FedEx Forum.
