Millions of people nationwide watched, as Kemba Smith’s arrest and imprisonment played out in the headlines.

Back in the 1990’s Kemba was given 25 years in prison, a sentence many found extreme, since she was just a first-time non-violent offender.

She tells her story, including about the abuse that led up to being put behind bars in her book “Poster Child: The Kemba Smith Story”.

She’s in Memphis to speak at the YWCA Luncheon.
