CLARKSDALE, Miss. — An 18-year-old is dead following a shooting in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Authorities told WREG it all started when two people got into an argument around 4 p.m. on King Street. The suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking Dayeveon Hill, a Clarksdale High School senior, in the chest and the arm.

Hill was rushed to the local hospital where he later died.

The suspect, another 18 year old, was taken into custody, Clarksdale Police said. His name will not be released at this time.

Hill was one of Clarkdale’s top players and had just signed a football scholarship to play at Pearl River last week.
