Woman indicted in fatal crash that killed man

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Linda Cartwright, 56, has been indicted on vehicular homicide charges.

Cartwright, who has at least four prior DUI convictions dating to 1987, also was indicted on aggravated vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.

She is charged in the death of Charles Butner, 62, of Missouri who was hit and killed June 16.

Butner was trying to help a driver injured in an accident at East Brooks Road and Coughlin Drive.

She is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $250,000 bond.
