MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A suspect is on the run after robbing man and a woman behind a Midtown bar.

According to police, a woman  was sitting in her car waiting for a friend to come out of Dru's Bar when a man approached her. He put a handgun to her head and said he was going to shoot her if she didn't hand over everything she had.

He eventually took a backpack inside the car when he realized she didn't' have anything to hand over.

That's when he reportedly approached the employee who had just exited the business to take out the trash.

The woman ran inside to get help. When she returned, the suspect was seen entering a silver vehicle that was parked on McNeil. She followed the suspect for some time before pulling over to flag down an officer.

Dashawn Walker said he often hangs out at Dru's Bar at the intersection of Madison Avenue and McNeil.

"It just needs to be more security and more police staying visible here because this is our home. This is where we live everyday. If you're not safe in your community, where are you safe?"

He also told WREG that the parking lot lack proper lighting at night.

"Not at all. This whole place back here behind the bar is like black."

Authorities have not arrested the suspect in this case. If you know anything that could help, call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
