(Arlington, TX) A woman died Friday night while riding a roller coaster at the Six Flags Over Texas theme park outside Dallas.

Witnesses say the seat restraints came loose and the woman was thrown from the Texas Giant roller coaster.

The ride is billed as the tallest steel-hybrid coaster in the world.

The Texas Giant is as high as a 14-story building and has a first drop of 147 feet.

The ride opened in 1990 and was redesigned in 2011.

Six Flags says the coaster has been shut down while police investigate.
