MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Shelby County woman is facing charges after deputies say she stabbed a man because he spilled coffee on her floor.

Lareesia Wright, 25, is charged with aggravated assault.

Deputies say Wright’s sister and the victim were having coffee at her home on Kamin Lane Tuesday morning when she confronted him about the coffee spill in the kitchen.

The victim told police he went into the kitchen and told Wright he hadn’t spilled any coffee, that it may have been her sister.

Deputies say Wright attacked him, stabbing him at least twice in the back with a pair of scissors.

Wright’s sister, Laquita, was also arrested when deputies say she became angry and tried to fight them and because she also assaulted the victim with her fists and a broom handle.
