MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Tipton County woman is behind bars in Memphis after police say she embezzled money from her former employer.

Brandy Threlkeld, 30, will be in court Tuesday on forgery and theft charges.

Police say the total loss to the company was more than $344,000.

Police say she worked as an accountant and secretary at Williams Sign Company on Thomas Street for about four years, ending in January.

She’s accused of stealing company checks and forging her boss’ signature to pay for trips and new vehicles.
