MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman is accused of beating her elderly mother, pointing a gun at her forehead and threatening to kill her.

Police arrested 53-year-old Louise Pino over the weekend and charged her with adult abuse and neglect, and aggravated assault.

Pino’s mother told police her daughter moved into her home on Peg Lane last week to recover from knee surgery, and soon after began beating her with a belt and then threatened her with a gun.

She also told officers her daughter grabbed her so hard that she bruised her arms.

Neighbors told us they had no idea anything like that was going.

According to the CDC, more than 500,000 adults over the age of 60 are abused every year.

National studies show that 90 percent of the time, family members are the attacker.

In this case, the victim was able to pass a note to her son who was visiting and get some help.

Pino is locked up on $25,000 bond.
