WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — West Memphis Mayor Marco McClendon issues a Home Emergency Order in response to the COVID-19 pandemic during a news conference on Monday.

The order will limit all activities outside of the home “beyond what is absolutely necessary for essential tasks” between 9 p.m. though 5 a.m. every day until April 30.

Every park in the city is closed.

“There will be no more public gatherings over 10 people in West Memphis, McClendon said. The order is mandatory, not voluntary, he said.

McClendon recommended residents wear masks or some type of scarf when out in public.
