(Memphis) A robbery in Frayser Tuesday ended in shootout between the victim and robber.
It happened in the 3800 block of Felts Station.
Twenty-five-year-old Timmy Kinner was taken to the hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds to his shoulder and neck, and was charged with especially aggravated robbery.
Police say Kinner pulled a gun on man outside his home and ordered him to drop a bag he was carrying.
Fred Taylor says he put down the bag, but also fired a gun he was carrying at the robber.
Police say Kinner also fired his gun, hitting Taylor in the leg.
Taylor says Kinner took off with his bag, and that’s when he chased after him and fired at Kinner again.
“He was trying to protect himself,” said a neighbor.
Neighbors say Taylor was robbed back in November of a government check.
Taylor told police there was also a check in the bag that was taken.
Police found Kinner in a wooded area nearby.
They also found a gun, but didn’t find the stolen bag.
So far, Kinner is the only one facing any charges.
