MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two thieves are on the run, and they met their prey on Beale Street.
The problem is, police don’t even know their real names.
This story starts out like a lot of others.
In town from Oklahoma, the man was looking to have a good time on Beale Street.
He met a few girls and around 2 in the morning on March 11, he invited them back to his room at the Residence Inn on Monroe Avenue downtown.
That’s when police say his luck changed.
The women hung around and partied for an hour, but then suddenly took off with cash, cards, and cellphone.
Stacy and Morgan – at least, that’s what they him their names were – were caught on surveillance during their shopping spree on his dime.
In total, they rang up more than $9,000 of false charges in Southaven, Memphis, and West Memphis.
WREG tried calling both of the phone numbers they gave the man – one from Nashville, the other from North Carolina.
Both of the lines were disconnected.
There’s no telling if they took off or if they’re still in the area, but the police are asking you to keep an eye out, just in case.
