WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. -- Two people were injured after being shot at a West Memphis laundromat.

The shooting happened on Saturday evening, at the corner of Avalon and Broadway.

The West Memphis Police Department says one of the victims was involved in an altercation with the suspect. The other victim was a bystander who was not involved.

"It was just continuous shooting. Just continuous gunfire," neighbor Eddie Smothers said.

He estimates he heard 50 to 60 gunshots as he scrambled to the door to check on his sons who were outside.

"When I opened the door, you could hear the bullets passing by. You know, just psst, psst. And it was pretty bad," he said. "And my sons were on the side and they were like, 'Dad, get down, get down, get down,' 'cause they were still shooting."

Both victims are in stable condition.

The police have arrested 22-year-old Courtney Cosby at the scene of the shooting. Cosby is being charged with terroristic act and tampering with evidence.

The man who answered the door at Cosby's home had little to say. But a man who vaccums his car at the same car wash where the shooting took place is tired of living in fear.

"It's not fair for people to come out here and they've got to duck and keep from getting shot. I feel like wherever you stay, you should be able to go where you want to go without all this *expletive* going on."

The West Memphis Police Department also says that they have identified additional suspects who were involved but were not located at the scene. The police department is currently working on obtaining arrest warrants for those suspects.
