Two injured in overnight shootings

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a pair of overnight shootings that sent two people to the hospital.

The first shooting happened around 11:50 p.m. Monday at the Memphis Inn Motel on American Way in the Parkway Village area.

Police say a man was shot during an armed robbery outside the motel. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are looking for three suspects — two men and a woman — who took the man’s truck and some cash.

The second shooting happened just before 2 a.m. Tuesday at a gas station on Sycamore View in Northeast Memphis.

Police say a man was shot in the back during an attempted armed robbery.

One suspect has been detained for questioning — but so far, no charges have been filed.
