MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shots targeted a moving vehicle Monday morning, causing the driver to crash in southwest Memphis.

Police say the driver and one of his passengers were both hit by bullets.

They spotted a Nissan Sentra in a wooded area on Third just south of Levi, where they saw three males climb out of the woods, saying they had been shot.

The victims say they were southbound on Third when someone in another vehicle opened fire, causing them to crash.

The driver was shot in the back and a passenger in the back seat was hit in the arm.

The victims told police they did not get a good look at the other vehicle or the people inside.
