NEW YORK — In 2015, he was the runner-up, but in 2016 Donald Trump takes the title as Time’s Person of the Year.
As in the election, Trump beat Hillary Clinton for the title.
He also rose above nine other finalists that ranging from scientists to Beyoncé.
Each year Time editors choose a person, or idea, who has influenced the news and world for good or bad.
“So which is it this year: Better or worse? The challenge for Donald Trump is how profoundly the country disagrees about the answer,” TIME managing editor Nancy Gibbs wrote in a magazine essay.
