ROUND ROCK, Texas — Police in Texas are on the hunt for two suspects they say shot and killed a deputy at his home.

It happened early this morning in Round Rock, which is right outside of Austin.

Authorities believe Sgt. Craig Hutchinson interrupted a robbery at his home and don’t think this was an ambush.

They do not think this was an ambush.

Hutchinson was found shot in his backyard.

“At this time, I just ask individuals to pray for the family and to pray for this community and to pray for this country, because we are in a country that is morally bankrupt and value-depleted. It is going to take all of us to come together to address this particular issue,” said Sheriff Greg Hamilton.

Sgt. Hutchinson had 32 years of service with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office and had planned to retire in September.
