TBI: Wife, man charged in Savannah husband’s murder

HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. —  State authorities are investigating following the death of a man in Savannah this week.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed they are working with the Savannah Police Department after Jeffery Steven White was found dead in the 100 block of Young Lane on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Associated Press was told by the TBI that Christopher Mailhot of Iuka, Mississippi and Elaina Michelle White of Savannah were arrested. Mailhot was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy, while she was charged with criminal responsibility for first-degree murder and conspiracy.

Each suspect was given a $2 million bond.

The official cause of death for Jeffery White has not been determined.
