MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was shot and killed Tuesday morning in the 6000 block of Waterstone Oak Way.

Police found Lakeyel Hurd, 26, unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators learned that just prior to the shooting, Hurd’s ex-boyfriend Antonio Davis, 27, kicked in the door and forced his way into Hurd’s home.

Davis fled the scene after shooting the victim multiple times, police said.

He is on the run. Police have issued an arrest warrant for first-degree murder.

And it looks like Davis has been in similar trouble before. Sheena Robinson said her then-boyfriend, Davis, nearly beat her to death in June 2013. Davis pleaded guilty to aggravated assault charges.
