Suspect Arrested for Spottswood Murder

(Memphis) An East Memphis man is behind bars, facing murder charges for a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning.

43-year-old Dedrick Wiggins was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with first degree murder.

Police say he shot and killed 42-year-old Larry Richards outside a house in the 3100 block of Spottswood Ave. around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a police affidavit, Richards identified Wiggins as the shooter before he was taken to the MED. Richards later died.

Wiggins is expected to make his first appearance in court on Friday.
