MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The newest member of WREG’s nightside anchor team has officially been announced.

Stephanie Scurlock has been named to replace Claudia Barr, who just last week announced her retirement. Barr’s last day on air was Wednesday.

“Stephanie has done it all.  She has been an investigative reporter in Memphis for more than 20 years, and her stories have touched lives everywhere.  It’s a good feeling, and I’m proud to hand the microphone to my colleague and good friend,” Barr said.

“Stephanie proved herself as a tenacious reporter at WREG a long time ago,” added President and General Manager Ron Walter.  “She’s tough without being mean, and she knows how to get the story.  She’s proven herself as an anchor too.  She’s both talented and personable, and I think that comes through on camera.”

Stephanie will anchor the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. news starting Monday, November 28.
