(Memphis) Multiple sources tell News Channel 3 an arrest has been made in the murder of Aaron Vasquez.

A Memphis police spokesperson said that they received information Friday that a person wanted for questioning in connection to a homicide was at the Honeybaked Ham in the 6800 block of Winchester.

The spokesperson did not specify for which homicide this person was wanted. She said that there is currently no update to the investigation of Aaron Vasquez’s murder at El Toro Loco.

But a police source told News Channel 3 that the arrest is in connection with Vasquez’s murder.

The MPD spokesperson could not say whether the person they arrested was an employee of the Honeybaked Ham, or was simply there at the time.

Employees of Honeybaked Ham told News Channel 3 that when police arrived, one of their co-workers started running. A Honeybaked Ham representative told News Channel 3 to direct all questions to Memphis police and that they are fully cooperating with law enforcement.

Police said that when they arrived, the person they were looking for ran away on foot. They eventually arrested the person in the 3500 block of Kirby Terrace.

Aaron Vasquez was killed while taking out the trash early Saturday morning at El Toro Loco in the Kirby Gate Shopping Center.

A memorial fund has been set up in Aaron’s name. You can make a donation at any Wells Fargo bank.

An employee of a different business was also attacked this past weekend in that same shopping center and is recovering from his wounds. Police have not said whether these incidents are related.
