Smoke alarms recalled

PALO ALTO, Cali. — Nearly half a million smoke alarms are being recalled because the alarm may not go off immediately.

It’s the Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm, which connects to the Internet.

The company, which is owned by Google, is offering an electronic update to fix the problem.

Nest says there have been no reports of injury or property damage.
