MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Drivers at Metro Mix couldn't get to their trucks this morning.

They were stopped by the police and crime scene tape outside the business.

Most were too upset to talk to WREG's Melissa Moon after they learned one co-worker had been shot, and another was in custody for killing him.

Police said a woman shot her husband inside the office at Metro Mix off Mill Branch Road shortly after they both arrived about 6 a.m.

Officers said the couple got into an argument that escalated into a physical fight and then a shooting.

The wife was still here when police arrived.

"There were other employees present when it occurred and fortunately only one person was hit," said Col. Mikey Williams.

Employees at Metro Mix didn't want to say much about the couple except they had worked here for a while and were separated.

Police said crimes like this are the hardest to stop or predict.

"Because we can't be inside the home and we can't be inside the business. So, anywhere people who are related and have ongoing relationships are together when things break out. It's very hard to predict where that is going to occur."

Tony Baptist said it's tough when you work with both people involved in something this horrific.

"We are like family," he said. "I'm hurt."
