MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Several homes were damaged overnight after a fire in South Memphis and authorities said someone did it on purpose.

WREG was told it started around 2 a.m. Tuesday at a vacant home in the 1000 block of Beach Street near Walker. Investigators said the home was intentionally set on fire and the flames quickly spread to other nearby homes.

Two of the other homes were occupied and the third was another vacant home.
