MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Sedgwick Claims Management announced it's expanding its headquarters in Memphis Monday. Officials said it would create around 150 new jobs over the next three years.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development's Chief Operating Officer Ted Townsend said the company would provide technology and product development jobs.
These jobs are "high-end, high-tech jobs," and present a challenge to Memphis to improve its high-tech workforce development, according to Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell.
Sedgwick also still has to present its case to the Memphis and Shelby County Economic Development Growth Engine to gain tax incentives. Officials said EDGE would release the potential tax incentives Tuesday and would decide Friday whether to grant them.
"This move is contingent upon several of those things being approved," said Phil Trenary, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce.
Sedgwick also did not disclose the exact location of the new global headquarters. Officials would not confirm that they'd be in Memphis or Shelby County.
They said they planned to announce the location Tuesday.
The company currently has 250 locations nationwide.
