MEMPHIS, Tenn. —  Another arrest has been made in the theft of thousands of dollars worth of meat from Ledbetter Packing. Reginald Suggs was arrested Tuesday and charged with theft of property. His bond was set at $30,000. According to police documents, the packing plant on President’s Island discovered it was missing hundreds of pounds of meat worth almost $90,000. They immediately hired a private security company to investigate. During a 10-day period, surveillance video captured several people on the night shift cleaning crew leaving bags and boxes of meat next to the dumpster. Other individuals would then pull up and retrieve them. The theft ring reportedly consists of ten people, including Suggs, that are all employed through the company. On Tuesday, police arrested Ronnie Strickland for his role in the ring. He has since been released from jail.
