MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man convicted and classified as a violent sexual offender against children is back behind bars after allegedly having a relationship with a minor.

"I'll beat the hell out of him," said the father of the minor.

He and his girlfriend say Frederick Horton dated their 15-year-old daughter for months. And he claimed to be 17-years-old.

"When I first met him, he showed me an ID. And the ID said he was 17." the father said.

"He always kept his hair cut with no beard and stuff," the father's girlfriend said.

It turns out, Horton is 42-years-old and a registered sex offender who allegedly had sex with their baby girl.

He says Horton was even living with them.

"He was like his momma had passed, his daddy had passed and he had nowhere to go. So I tried to be nice and open my heart up and open my home up." the father said. "He was nice. You know, he cleaned up and came out her to do the yard."

The girl's father says everything changed a few weeks ago when Horton called police after they got into a fight.

Officers looked up each man's record and discovered the 42-year-old is classified as a violent sexual offender against children.

"We've been played."

According to the arrest affidavit, Horton admitted to having sex with the girl and told police they've been in a year-long relationship.

He's currently charged with statutory rape and violating the Sex Offender Registry Act by living in a house with a minor.
