MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is in custody, and another is on the run for aggravated assault against an off-duty police officer.
According to Memphis Police, officers spotted a vehicle connected to an aggravated assault against an off-duty officer that happened on Sunday in the area Poplar Avenue and Union Avenue just after noon Monday.
Officers then followed the vehicle by car and helicopter onto I-40, where they crashed near the Austin Peay exit. No injuries were reported.
Police say one suspect was taken into custody after a brief pursuit. Police are still searching for the second suspect.
Police did not release any details about Sunday’s incident.
