MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis police need your help in finding justice for the family of Jonathan Booker, 25. He was hit and killed by a stray bullet in the Edge District last month.
“He was a photographer, videographer, loved to skateboard [and] loved car shows," said Major Lambert Ross with the Memphis Police Department.
The 25-year-old was a son, brother, uncle and boyfriend who worked hard.
“His family is torn apart by this, as any family would be.”
Major Ross says Booker was out with friends at The Den on December 3rd when a fight broke out. It caused his group to leave the venue.
Police say they were away from the commotion down the street when bullets started flying out of a moving car.
“When trouble started in that club that night, he left, like most of us would," said Major Ross. "He was taken down by a stray bullet. That’s a tragedy. With so much promise, a bright future.”
Three other innocent bystanders were also shot and survived.
“But he wasn’t lucky.”
Police have been looking for those responsible ever since.
MPD has shared surveillance video showing some of the people they want to speak with.
“We want to do our part, but we can’t do it without you," said Major Ross.
Crime Stoppers has only gotten six tips for the case since the shooting took place.
Detectives want to remind you calling in is completely anonymous. It can’t even be subpoenaed in court.
However, one call can help a grieving family.
“Property we can replace, but the only thing we can tell people is, 'I can’t bring your loved one back, but we’re going to do everything we can to catch the person responsible.'"
There is up to a $1,000 Crime Stoppers reward in this case. If you have any information that can be helpful, call 901-528-CASH.
