MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead following a shooting at a motel in the airport area early Monday morning.

Police were called to the Garden Inn on American Way and Lamar Avenue around 2:30 a.m.

Preliminary information suggests there was an argument between two individuals in the motel lobby which resulted in shots being fired. The male victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The male suspect has been detained.

We’ve told you about several other shootings at this same motel.

Back in August, there was a shooting at the location that left a 26-year-old dead and another person injured.

A week later another person was sent to the hospital following an incident.

It’s happening so often in the area that Al Cade said it doesn’t faze him anymore as he gassed up at Love truck stop across the street.

“It’s another senseless crime been committed,” he said. “It’s a shame.”
