MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 23-year-old gang member was found guilty of three counts of aggravated assault for a brutal attack in July 2013.

Prosecutors said Miguel Gomez, a member of the Hispanic gang Playboy Sureno 13, was involved in an attack that utilized brass knuckles, a screw driver, a knife and a gun.

It all started when the victim and his girlfriend tried to make peace with Gomez at a Mexican restaurant in the 37000 block of Ridgeway.

The man had a gun held to his head and was even beaten unconscious, while the girlfriend was punched and kicked by Gomez’s group.

The victim had to be hospitalized because of his injuries.

Gomez is expected to be sentenced on August 16.

He faces 8 to 12 years behind bars.
