Suspect shot in attempted home invasion in Parkway Village

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police say that a person was shot and killed in an attempted home invasion in Parkway Village.

Officers responded to the scene in the 4600 block of Cottonwood on Saturday afternoon.

According to preliminary information, someone in the home shot the person suspected of breaking in.

The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.

One man in the complex said he heard three or four shots and saw a body on the ground right outside his window.

“The last shot hit my wall,” he said. “I’m looking at him and I’m looking around, and then, boom.”

Police haven’t said whether the person who fired the shots would face any charges.
