MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was taken to the hospital overnight following an accidental shooting in Downtown Memphis. It happened around midnight near the corner of North Main Street and Adams. First responders were seen going inside The Claridge House and then coming back outside with one person who appeared to have sustained an injury. Around 7 a.m. police told WREG they believe the person accidentally shot himself. According to the report, the man cleaned his gun earlier in the day and laid it on the bed to dry. Around midnight, he laid down and realized he was on top of the gun. He was shot as he tried to move it from underneath him.
