OXFORD, Miss. — A University of Mississippi student has died, the university said.

Raegan Barnhart, 21, was a senior majoring in dietetics and nutrition. She is from Hernando.

At Ole Miss, Barnhart was a member of Delta Gamma.

According to her sorority chapter, she died Friday.

The university did not give details of how she died but said counselors will be available to the Ole Miss community this week prior to Thanksgiving break.

“We are all deeply saddened to learn about Raegan’s passing,” said Mindy Sutton, assistant vice chancellor of student affairs and dean of students.  “While so many of us are spending time with our families and friends during this Thanksgiving break, please keep Raegan’s friends, classmates and family in your thoughts and prayers.”

“Raegan was an incredible asset to our chapter and loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her,” Ole Miss Delta Gamma wrote.
