MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two brothers are dead, an officer injured and a family devastated  in Fox Meadows. “Both of them have been pronounced deceased.” It all started after police received a 911 call at 4:55 p.m. from the suspect’s mother claiming he killed his brother. Moments later, officers said they got another call but this time from a man who admitted to the crime. Police showed up at the house. “The individual inside the house shot through the garage striking one of our officers,” said a spokesperson with the Memphis Police Department. That officer has been identified as 32-year-old Jason Winburn. MPD Interim Director Mike Rallings said Winburn has been on the Memphis Police force for five-and-a-half years. He works at the Ridgeway Station The bullet hit the officer in the foot. The bullet didn’t penetrate his skin thanks to his boot, but he was still transported to Regional Medical Center. Police then worked to evacuate the neighborhood as a SWAT team, detectives and negotiators moved in. A 7-year-old girl was also in the home but was able to get out safely, police said. Three hours later, the stand off ended with another family in Memphis left heartbroken and grieving.
