HELENA-WEST HELENA, Ark. — Police have taken a suspect in an attempted murder and rape back into custody after he was accidentally released.

He was turned in by family members after they realized a mistake had been made.

Willie Ross was released from the Cross County Sheriff’s Office September 21.

Ross was being held on a $1 million bond in connection to the May 21 beating and rape of a woman at the Christopher Homes, a senior citizens apartment complex.

Police said Ross was considered armed and dangerous.
