MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Police say a dispute between neighbors was behind a shooting on Howardcrest Drive in the Raleigh area that left two men dead Tuesday afternoon.

Police arrived around 4:15 p.m. to find one man dead in the street. Another was laying on a lawn.

Family members identified one of the victims as 45-year-old Jonathan Tate, a father of two and stepfather to two more.

"He's a good person. He's a good person," said Tate's mother, Margo Shaw.

Shaw said Tate was at her house less than an hour before he was shot.

"I was giving him a pedicure and we were just talking about family things," Shaw said.

Police haven't released many details about the dispute that led to the shooting. As of 8:50 p.m., they said no one was in custody but that they continued to speak to witnesses.
