Melvin Jones, publisher of Memphis Black Business Directory, has died


MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Melvin Jones, publisher of the Memphis Black Business Directory, died Sunday, according to an obituary in The Daily Memphian and posts from family and friends on his Facebook page.

Jones, 65, was also executive director of the Memphis Business Contracting Consortium and a strong supporter of Black businesses.

According to his Facebook page, Jones was born in Hayti, Missouri and attended Cornell University.
