MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman was charged with second-degree murder after police say she struck a man with a car.
Deshunta Sudduth, 45, was arrested after officers were called to Methodist North Hospital early Sunday morning.
According to a police affidavit, Tobius Pride was brought to the hospital by a witness with chest trauma and injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at 1:45.
The witness who brought Pride to the hospital told police he was Sudduth’s live-in boyfriend. She said she found Pride slumped over and bleeding in the back seat of a Kia that Sudduth had been driving that day.
Police said the car had damage to the front grill and blood on the bumper and rear door.
Sudduth told police that she had picked up Pride at Poplar and Manassas and took him to her home. She denied any knowledge of his injuries despite “a large amount of blood” inside the vehicle and on her clothes, police said.
