MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death in a car Saturday in Hickory Hill.

According to police, officers responded to a call in the 6200 block of Arbor Creek Trail around 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

Officers found one man inside a car and determined that he had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot. The argument is believed to have stemmed from a shoe exchange.

“I seen two bullet holes in that red car and they pulled him out into a body bag," one resident of the area said, "They said they shot him for some tennis shoes, for what? That don’t make no sense.”

If you have any information regarding this shooting, please call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
