MEMPHIS, Tenn. --  A Raleigh man is behind bars, accused of attacking a neighbor with his bicycle.

Police say George McCormick also vandalized several vehicles that belong to the victim and her husband.

They said McCormick was upset because his neighbors owed him $5, and slashed 18 tires on five vehicles parked at their home.

"He did all of them," said Teresa Lind.

Lind didn't see McCormick slash the tires, but came outside when she heard her neighbor screaming, then saw McCormick attack her friend with a metal pipe and his bike.

"He got off his bicycle and lifted the bicycle over his head and was going at her with the bicycle and I stepped into the middle of that too, because I was like no you are not going to hit her," said Lind.

Lind has some small cuts on her hands from where she said was hit by McCormick's bike.

She said she's just glad she was there to help.

"Because there is no telling what could happen,"  said Lind.

Police  estimate damage to the vehicles at around $3,400.

McCormick has been arrested before for assault and public intoxication.
