MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A brutal attack in Parkway Village this morning left four victims in its wake. One person escaped unscathed, but two victims were rushed to the hospital – fighting to survive. The fourth person, died at the scene.

The father of one victim told WREG that this was a domestic dispute, that quickly turned violent with the gunman going on the run.

Memphis Police spent hours investigating who went on the attack, only to hide in the shadows following a deadly shooting inside the Shadowbrook Townhouses.

Saturday morning, the Parkway Village complex not far from Getwell Road was saturated with detectives focused in this area here along Sarabee Lane. An area one man has called home, the past two years.

He didn’t feel comfortable showing his face on camera, but did feel like telling us what happened here is out of the ordinary.

“It’s a lot of peace, loving people here. But nobody got control of a crime, you never know when crimes going to break out,” one neighbor told us.

It was around 9:30 Saturday morning, when police responded. Detectives say two people were rushed to the hospital clinging to life in critical condition. Sadly, a third person – was pronounced dead here at the scene. Police later said there was a fourth victim, but they were uninjured.

We spoke to a father off camera who said his daughter was one of the victims rushed to the hospital, critically injured after being shot in the mouth. Making matters worse, he said this was no random attack, leaving many living nearby with plenty of questions.

Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of answers. But one thing is for sure, from those we spoke with, it will take a village coming together to bring an end to the cycle of violence.

“You try to bring your child up his best you can, do it the right way. Trying to make them understand to be God loving,” a neighbor said.

At last check, police were still looking for the person or persons responsible. MPD said that the suspect is known by one of the victims.
