SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — Southaven Police are looking for a woman who was last seen at a gas station two weeks ago.
Bonita Adams, 36, was last seen on September 13 at the Raceway gas station at 580 Stateline Road W. Southaven Police posted about her disappearance Thursday afternoon.
It is important to get information out about a missing person as soon as possible, but Friday makes 16 days since anyone has seen Adams. Southaven Police say she was not reported missing until this Tuesday – 13 days after she was last seen.
Shanell Branch lives in the area and says the Raceway is her go-to gas station.
“I don’t feel safe knowing that happened. I live in the area. It’s really sad. I hope they do find her,” said Branch.
For Branch, it hits too close to home after the recent missing case surrounding 21-year-old mother Tamia Taylor, whose body was found this week in the Mississippi River. Foul play is not suspected in her case.
“I always do what I have to do work and go home. Just really pay attention to your surroundings. If you’re a woman by yourself always pay attention to what’s going on around you. Don’t think you’re safe in an area or daytime. You have to pay attention to everything,” said Branch.

WREG reached out to the owner of the Raceway for comment and to see if he would release any surveillance video, but he declined as of now.
Adams has blond hair and wears glasses. She was wearing denim capri pants and a pink t-shirt.
