MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a pregnant woman was rushed to the hospital after she was shot in North Memphis Tuesday night.
Just before 7:30 p.m., officers near the Saints Court Apartments off North Watkins heard nearly two dozen rounds fired. The officers soon discovered a woman who was nine months pregnant trying to flag them down.
She was shot twice in the shoulder and in her hip. She was transported to Regional One in critical condition.
A family member of the victim told detectives he heard the woman and her boyfriend arguing. Next, there were “shots being fired.”
As the woman was being rushed away to the hospital, her boyfriend, the alleged gunman, rushed away from the scene in a blue truck.
WREG learned Wednesday the woman was released from the hospital, but police are still looking for the suspect.
We asked those with the complex if they wanted to make a statement, but they refused.
