The Panola County Sheriff’s Office says two men were shot shortly after 2 a.m. in the area of Railroad Street and Church street. One man died on the scene and one man was rushed to Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

A man who lives in the area says he heard what he thought sounded like fireworks but when he looked outside, he saw a man clinging to this fence and another man lying in the middle of the road.
